Ex Winchester College pupil in London Marathon for Blue Apple

Seb Longman in training

A former Blue Apple volunteer is giving up his time to train for the London Marathon to support Blue Apple

During his time as a pupil at Winchester College, Seb opted to join other pupils in weekly volunteering at Blue Apple by helping out in rehearsals and supporting actors on stage during performances.

This activity clearly made its mark. On his JustGiving page Seb writes:

“Whilst I was at College we were able to pick a charity to do volunteer work for once a week. On the list was a theatre company that supports actors with a range of learning disabilities, called Blue Apple Theatre. With a love for acting and being part of a drama group when I was younger I thought this was the perfect fit. Now I would like to support them that little bit more by taking donations for my attempt at the London Marathon.”

Blue Apple Theatre puts on two plays a year, one of which is usually based on a classic text, for example plays by Shakespeare. Their work allows for the actors to meet new people and have stage experience in front of large audiences, reducing social isolation, improving their confidence, acting skills, public speaking, dancing and singing.

The London Marathon takes place on Sunday, April 23, 2023. With just over seven weeks to go, Seb is now training hard. You can support Blue Apple by sponsoring Seb at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/sebastian-longman
